n y , has unveiled its 2008 R a k o w
Commission
-North Sea Waves,
a large cast glass sculpture by the
Slovak artist Zora Palova.

ground for a big renovation, 26
trees w ere cut dow n. T h e y now
live on in a v a riety o f w ood
objects—from vessels to pens
to tables—by 80 lathe turners.
“ W e kept th in kin g, w hat i f w e
took the trees and transform ed
them into som ething o f lasting
beauty,” says Suzanne W it-
